RESPONSORIAL PSALMS

“The musical tradition of the universal Church is a treasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art. The main reason for this pre-eminence is that, as a combination of sacred music and words, it forms a necessary or integral part of solemn liturgy."  The composition and singing of inspired psalms, often accompanied by musical instruments, were already closely linked to the liturgical celebrations of the Old Covenant.

- CCC 1156

Simple refrains for cantors and congregations.

We think psalms shouldn’t be complicated for cantors, music directors, or congregations. Our verse melodies are written in free time, which means cantors can take their time getting through the verse at their own pace. This format allows for musicians of any skill level to use our psalms. Our memorable and easy-to-sing melodies lend to more participation for everyone to enter into the Liturgy.

Complementary styles.

With verses written in free-time chant, our responsorial psalm settings allow for the Word of God to be easily understood by the congregation and proclaimed confidently by the cantor. Blending meter and free time also captures the familiar sound of the Catholic Church.

Professionally recorded for each liturgical season.

We partnered with a Catholic music producer and Catholic artists from around the country to record high quality reference tracks for all Sundays and the major feast days. Each recording is tailored to fit the mood of each liturgical season.

All recordings are included in the Year B and C packages, but you can also find them on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, and all other digital music platforms.

Communities, music directors, and physical spaces in mind.

As an organization of Catholics, we have been participating in the liturgy for decades. Most of us lead choirs for Mass, and we have all played in diverse spaces. From reverb-filled Cathedrals, to small carpeted rooms on retreats, our responsorial psalms are arranged in a minimalist style in order to suit any space and style of liturgy.
