3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

R. Your words, Lord, are Spirit and life.

Written by Blake Flynn

This psalm is a great reminder that the word of God is living and ever-changing to spiritually feed us what our souls hunger for. We find truth in the heart of God when we encounter His word. We find true freedom when we follow His commands. We find peace when we allow ourselves to be transformed by the love and word of God.

If prayer is the way to all of these graces, we must pray, we must have a daily conversation with the Lord, we must read His word and we will be changed.

After high school, I took two gap years to do mission work. There I learned how to pray and build a relationship with Jesus. Those two years were crucial to the formation of my faith and to me as a person. I learned that I become a different person when I take time to pray consistently. I become more patient, caring and loving to those around me, I feel as if I have more purpose in my life and I can always hope and run to the one who never will fail me.

Having consistent prayer is challenging but necessary for our growth as Christians. How can you regularly incorporate the word of God into your life?
